If your RP-U100 does not operate as expected, check the items below.
Symptom
Pressing the POWER switch
does not turn on the RP-U100.
There is no sound.
The sound field programs have
no effect.
There is a humming noise.
Using the RP-U100 affects TV
reception or the performance of
other equipment.
The Presets do not work.
• Troubleshooting the FM Tuner
Symptom
A popping noise can be heard.
Stereo broadcasts are accom-
panied by an unpleasant back-
ground noise.
Auto tuning cannot locate a sta-
tion.

Possible Cause
The power plug is not plugged
into the wall outlet correctly.
A speaker cable is shorted.
No input source is selected.
A connection is incorrect.
The DSP is off.
An analog connection is incor-
rect.
These equipment may be situ-
ated too close to the RP-U100.
The preset settings are lost if
the RP-U100 is unplugged for
more than two weeks.
Possible Cause
Interference from the ignition
system of a motorcycle or auto-
mobile is being picked up.
The antenna signal is too weak
or the signal of the station you
are receiving is weak.
The station is too weak.
Remedy
Insert the power plug correctly.
Switch off the power, correct
the speaker connections, then
switch on the power again.
Select the source that you want
to listen to.
When using the PC input
source, be sure to select the
correct input: USB, digital, or
analog.
Check the connections.
Switch on the DSP.
Insert the analog plugs cor-
rectly.
Move these equipment away
from the RP-U100.
Reprogram the presets.
Remedy
Adjust the angle and location of
the FM antenna to minimize the
noise. If that does not eliminate
the noise, install an outdoor FM
antenna.
Use a coaxial cable for the
antenna connection.
Install an outdoor FM antenna.
Use a multi-element antenna.
Use manual tuning.
