Installation and Operation
The other end of the ribbon cable connects to the SC-205X Series board that you have installed for use
with the host data acquisition board. You should connect your SC-206X Series board only to the 26-
pin connector labeled DIGITAL I/O on your SC-205X Series board. Table 5-2 lists these connectors.

Warning:
Do not attempt to connect an SC-206X Series board to any connector
for which it is not designed. Incorrect connection can result in damage
to the SC-206X Series board and all components connected to the SC-
206X Series board, including the host computer. National Instruments
is not liable for any damages resulting from incorrect connections.
The SC-206X Series board operates on the digital port to which it is connected. For example, if you
want digital input isolation on Port B of a DIO-24 board, connect an SC-2060 board to an SC-2051
board at connector J4, labeled DIGITAL I/O, PORT -B-.
Operation
An SC-206X Series board operates on the 8-bit digital port corresponding to the label on its SC-205X
Series connection. To change the digital port that is being conditioned, simply disconnect the SC-
206X Series board from the current port on the SC-205X Series board and reconnect it to the desired
port. Power to the host computer and all external circuitry must be off while disconnecting and
connecting an SC-206X Series board.
