Troubleshooting

Devices connected to the USB 3.0 ports
do not operate
Power can be turned on, however, Win-
dows does not start up normally
The computer does not resume (return)
from sleep or hibernation
The computer does not power off (Win-
dows does not shut down)
Nothing is displayed or the display does
not appear properly on the external dis-
play connected to the HDMI terminal.
The audio output from the HDMI com-
patible display cannot be turned on/off
The computer does not recognize the
drive
The drive indicator
Cannot play disc or read data from it
"Roxio Creator LJB" does not work prop-
erly
Cannot eject disc
The disc tray does not close
Other disc operation problems

Check if the AC adaptor is connected to the power terminal
of the port replicator.
Disconnect peripheral devices, such as a USB memory. If
disconnecting the peripheral devices can start up Windows,
the problem may be with the peripheral devices. Contact the
manufacturer of such devices.
Slide the power switch to turn the power on in the following
cases. Note that unsaved data is lost.
The AC adaptor was disconnected in sleep.
Peripheral devices were connected/disconnected.
The power switch was slid for 4 seconds or more and Win-
dows was forcibly terminated.
If a peripheral is connected, disconnect it, and then shut
down.
If it is possible to shut down when the peripheral is discon-
nected, then there may be a problem with the peripheral.
Contact the manufacturer of such devices.
The HDMI compatible display does not support the HDMI
connection on the computer.
When the HDMI compatible display does not support the
HDMI connection on the computer, the screen may appear
blurry, or the output destination may not be switched by
pressing

on the computer cannot turn on/off the
audio output from the HDMI compatible display.
Restart the computer.
Power off the computer, then remove and connect the com-
puter again.
Is the disc loaded on the tray correctly? (
Is the disc bent, scratched, or dirty?
An error may occur if, after the tray has been closed or operation
has been resumed from the sleep/hibernate modes, the drive is
accessed before the drive indicator
may occur if the drive is accessed by the application software
automatically. In a case like this, remove the disc, re-insert it,
and try again. ( page 11)
Is writing software other than "Roxio Creator LJB" installed?
Uninstall the writing software other than "Roxio Creator
LJB."
Turn on the computer.
To remove a disc when the computer is
powered off, insert a pointed object (e.g., the
bent-out tip of a paper clip) into the emergen-
cy hole (A). Pushing it completely to the end
will free the tray so that it can be pulled out.
If a disc with fingerprints or other dirt is used, you may not
be able to remove it. Use a clean disc. ( page 6)
Do not touch the eject button when closing the tray.
