Respecting the environment

We are all responsible for respecting and protecting the environment.
Ferrari has designed and constructed this vehicle using technology,
materials and devices to reduce the harmful impact on the environment
to a minimum.
2
As further contribution towards protecting the environment, drive
safely and behave responsibly at all times.
It is important to keep the vehicle perfectly efficient by complying with
the "Maintenance Schedule".
Driving style
Do not warm up the engine when the vehicle is stationary, either with
the engine idling or running at a high speed: in these conditions the
engine heats up much more slowly and increases fuel consumption
and emissions. Set off immediately after starting the engine and drive
slowly, avoiding high engine RPM until the temperature stabilises.
Avoid pressing the accelerator repeatedly when stopped at traffic lights
or before turning off the engine. This latter manoeuvre, and likewise
"double-clutching", are absolutely useless with current vehicles. These
actions increase fuel consumption and pollution.
As soon as traffic conditions and the route permit it, use a higher gear.
Accelerating suddenly, and therefore increasing the engine RPM
dramatically, is particularly detrimental in terms of emissions.
Accelerate gradually and do not exceed the maximum engine torque
rate.

Particular driving conditions
Very short trips and frequent cold starts do not allow the engine to
reach the optimal operating temperature and can cause a significant
increase in noxious emissions.
Intense traffic conditions involving the use of lower gears, or driving in
urban areas with numerous traffic lights can increase the emission of
noxious substances in the environment.
During prolonged stops (e.g. at level crossings) we recommend that
you turn the engine off.
