Operation with the engine off
The vehicle is equipped with an electro-hydraulically controlled gearbox
system by means of levers on the steering wheel.
The default setting for the F1 gearbox is always "Automatic" mode.
Every time the vehicle is started, the F1 gearbox is in "Auto easy exit" mode,

unless the vehicle was in "Automatic" mode when it was turned off.
To exit the "Auto easy exit" mode operate the UP or DOWN lever (while the vehicle
is moving) or press the
AUTO
button on the central console.
Once the "System start-up" stage has been completed, the gear
engaged will appear on the display:
N (Neutral);
R (Reverse);

If the display is flashing (this can also happen in "N"), the gear has not
been correctly engaged or disengaged; in this case, request "N" and
then the desired gear.

If the horizontal dash (C) appears on the display, there
is a system failure (B warning light on).
When the engine is off, 1
, reverse gear "R"and neutral "N" can be

Holding the brake pedal pressed during the request, proceed as
follows:
• "N" (Neutral): pull both levers located behind the steering wheel.
• "R" (Reverse gear): lift and pull the lever D toward the rear of the
vehicle.
Keep lever D pulled up until the "R" appears on the
display.
• Engaging 1
gear: move lever D forward or pull the "UP" lever

toward the steering wheel.
To engage the opposite gear using the reverse lever D,
keep it pushed forward until number "1" appears on the
display.
