Precautions

The driver software which comes with this product supports the following operating systems.

To use N8403-012 adapter, make sure to update the operating system with this driver

software.

Windows 2000

Windows Server 2003

To use this product on Linux, install the driver either by

+ Media and manual that and come with the operating system provided by NEC

+ Update module available at NEC's Web site

Before you attach N8403-012 adapter to CPU blade, you should,

・Remove Intel

・Update the onboard LAN driver.

Follow the steps in Chapter 4 "Installing driver and setting up adapter" on page 44 in this

document for removing Intel

You cannot do this from "Terminal Service (TS) " or "Deployment Manager (DPM). " Do this

on CPU blade itself.

When you have attached N8403-012 adapter on CPU blade, you have to change a part of

BIOS settings. See Section 4.2 "Changing BIOS settings after attaching the adapter" on

page 45 for details.
