TEKTRONIX is a registered trademark and Grass Valley is a trade- mark of Tektronix, Inc. - Page 3 October 19, 1998 Model 4000-3 Wipes on the Program/Preset Upgrade Introduction A new printed circuit board (PCB) has been added to the Tektronix Grass Valley Model 4000-3 Digital Switcher to allow the wipes on program preset functionality. The wipes on program preset function was an option for 4000-3 switchers ordered before April 10, 1998.
- Page 4 Version 6.0R2 Provided Materials A new upper printed circuit board (PCB), Tektronix Part #068977-00 (REV C). A set of new keycaps. Software upgrade diskette. (Version 6.0 or later). Required Tool (Not Provided) 5/16-inch nut driver. Step-By-Step Board and Keycap Upgrade Procedure Raise the lid of the switcher panel.
- Page 5 Model 4000-3 Wipes on the Program/Preset Upgrade Use a 5/16-inch nut driver to remove the eight white plastic nuts from the board stand-offs. Save the nuts for re-use. Remove the obsolete #068977-00 (REV. A or REV. B) PuP board. Install the new #068977-00 (REV. C) PuP board, using the eight white plastic nuts saved from the old board.

Note The wipes on program preset functionality is an orderable option for Model 4000-3 switchers ordered before April 10, 1998. This functionality now comes standard on all 4000-3s shipped after October 19th, 1998. Systems that were ordered in the interim will receive an upgrade kit as part of the purchase price. - Page 7 Model 4000-3 Wipes on the Program/Preset Upgrade PGM/PST Matte Subpanel With the new PGM/PST wipe software installed, there is different func- tionality for downstream keyer (DSK) background mattes, DSK matte fills, and DSK borderline mattes. The Matte subpanel provides control to the matte generators for down- stream keyers (DSKs), key borders, and backgrounds.

Model 4000-3 Wipes on the Program/Preset Upgrade PGM/PST Wipe Border Mattes Control for the PGM/PST primary wipe borders is under the WIPE BORDER menu. To open the WIPE BORDER menu, if the PGM PRI WIPE button is dele- gated, the BORD button can be pressed. Turning BORD on will open the program preset wipe border menu. - Page 10 Version 6.0R2 Wipe Positioner The wipe positioner delegation buttons have changed from the single- button delegations of M/E 1 PRI, M/E 1 SEC, M/E 2 PRI, M/E 2 SEC, M/ E3 PRI, and M/E 3 SEC to M/E 1, M/E 2, M/E 3, PGM PST delegations plus a PRI and SEC delegation.
