NOTE: If the chain moves along the guide bar with difficulty or stops, it means that it is overtightened. The
tension should be loosened.
Chain brake test
The chain saw is equipped with a chain brake, which reduces the likelihood of injury when the saw bounces.
The safety device operates when pressure is applied to the brake flap. When the operator's hand hits the shield,
the chain stops abruptly.
ATTENTION!
The chain brake reduces the likelihood of injury due to a rebound of the chainsaw, but does not
provide protection in the event of careless operation of the device. Before starting work and
periodically while working with a chainsaw, check that the chain brake is working properly.
The chain brake has two positions:
1. The brake is off (the chain may move) when the brake flap is pulled back (A) (Pic. 12).
2. The brake is applied (the chain cannot move) when the brake flap is directed forward (B). In this case, the
circuit should not move on the guide bar (Pic. 12).
To check the chain brake:
1. Place the saw on a flat surface and release the chain brake. The chain must not come into contact with
anything.
2. Start the chainsaw, press the Lock button and the trigger.
3. Press a chain brake guard. The chain should stop quickly. Release the throttle.
ATTENTION!
The brake flap must be in good condition and emit a characteristic click when moving from
one position to another. It is forbidden to use the device if the brake brush cannot be moved
to one of the positions or the chain does not stop when the brake is applied. Take the device
to an authorized service center for repair.
