OPERATING FAULTS
On the open road
- The oil pressure warning light comes
on:
- while cornering or braking
- at idle speed
- it is slow to go out or remains lit
under acceleration
- Loss of engine power.
- Unstable idle speed or the engine
stalls.
- Steering becomes heavy.

CAUSES
The level is too low.
Low oil pressure.
Low oil pressure.
Clogged air filter.
Fuel supply fault.
Faulty spark plugs, incorrect electrode
gaps.
Poor
compression
ignition, air leak).
Belt broken.
Insufficient oil in pump.
REMEDIAL ACTION
Top up the engine oil level (see Engine
oil
level:
Section 4).
Consult the nearest RENAULT Dealer.
Stop: contact a RENAULT Dealer.
Replace the element.
Check the fuel level.
Contact a RENAULT Dealer.

Contact a RENAULT Dealer.
Have the belt replaced.
Top up the power assisted steering
fluid level (refer to Section 4 on the
Power assisted steering pump).
If the fault is still present, contact a
RENAULT Dealer.
