Check the direction of rotation of the pump as follows: 1. Atlas Copco preferred method would be to visibly check the fan on the motor for direction of rotation. If this is not possible, temporarily remove any guard over the drive coupling or belt.
Instruction Manual pump (refer to Section 4.4) after a few seconds. 3. Check that the pump drive shaft rotated correctly in the direction shown by the arrow on the pump. 4. If the direction of rotation was incorrect: • If you have fitted a drive and transmission system: check the drive and transmission system and reconfigure in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
Instruction Manual Operation NOTE The procedures in the following sections assume that your sealing liquid supply system is as shown in Figure 1, detail A, B or C. General operation safety WARNING Obey the safety instructions and precautions listed below. If you do not, there may be a risk of injury or death to people, or damage to the pump.
Instruction Manual 1. Refer to Figure 1, detail A, B or C. Open the sealing liquid supply valve (10) and the priming/drain valve (1). 2. Wait until liquid flows from the priming/drain valve (1). The pump is now primed. 3. Close sealing liquid supply valve (10) and then close the priming/drain valve (1). 4.
Instruction Manual Shut down WARNING Ensure that it is safe to shut down the pump before you use the following procedure. NOTE Should the pump be idle for an extended period of time it is recommended that the pump be disconnected from the electrical supply and drained of all liquids (refer to Section 6.1).
Fluorinated materials in the pump may include greases and seals. The pump may have overheated if it was misused, if it malfunctioned or if it was in a fire. Atlas Copco Safety Data Sheets for fluorinated materials used in the pump are available on request: contact your supplier or Atlas Copco.
Standard/Safe Area pumps must be internally inspected every three years and overhauled when necessary. We recommend that pump overhaul be carried out at an Atlas Copco Service Centre. Contact your supplier or your nearest Atlas Copco company to arrange for the overhaul.
