Setting up Electrosurgery Devices

4.2.1

General Information

Risk of injury by improper application!
Safe use of electrosurgery requires the user to be familiar with the technology and its
applications.
Improper use will lead to the danger of an increase in the leakage current of the system. This
can result in burns and electric shock. This applies especially when:
Connecting non-medical electrical devices to the system,
Connecting non-medical electrical devices that are intended for connection to an isolating
transformer to a standard Schuko socket.
If the permissible leakage current is exceeded when an additional third device is installed on

the maXium
smart Cart, the maXium
isolating transformer.
The isolating transformer must be ordered separately, see section 2.3.1 "Optional
Components", page 31.
The complete internal resistance of the supply network must allow the maximum mains current
(current consumption of the system) of 10 A.

Use of the respective devices.
The appropriate device holder must be installed for fixing the devices:

— Device holder for maXium
After installation of the device holder, the devices can be placed right away.
