Forsafetyreasons, CARRIER r ecommends that the installation,initial start
up and maintenance o f this equipment i s carriedout bya Dealer.
The engine exhaustfumes contain carbon monoxide, which can be
DEADLY. This dangerous gas, if breathedin sufficientconcentrations,
cancause unconsciousness orevendeath.Thisexhaust s ystem is factory
installed,in strict compliance with applicablecodes andstandards. Y ou
must do nothing that might render the system unsafe or in
noncompliance with suchcodes and standards.
• Keep hands,feet,clothing,etc., awayfrom drivebelts,fans,and other
moving or hotparts.Never remove anydrivebelt or fan guardwhilethe
unit is operating.
Adequate, u nobstructed flow of coolingand ventilatingair is critical to
correctgenerator o peration. D onot alterthe installationor permiteven
partialblockage of ventilation provisions, asthis canseriously a ffectsafe
operation ofthe generator. Thegenerator M UST be installedoutdoors.
When working onthis equipment, r emainalertat all times.Never w ork on
theequipment w henyouarephysically o r mentally fatigued.
Inspectthe generatorregularly,and contact your nearest CARRIER
Dealer f or parts needing repairor replacement.
Beforeperformingany maintenance on the generator, d isconnectits
batterycanes to prevent a ccidental s tart up. Disconnect the cablefrom
the batterypostindicated bya NEGATIVE,
NEG or (-) first. Reconnect that
cablelast.
