Changing the Lens Objective

To change the lens objective, ensure to first run the "Lens Home" routine to have the camera tower in the back of
the system. Unplug the ring illuminator from the under-arm of the camera tower and remove it by loosening the four
set screws holding it to the objective. Once the ring illuminator is off the system, you can remove the objective by
unscrewing it from the adaptor ring.

Replace the objective by the desired magnification objective to use and mount to the adaptor ring. Replace the ring
illuminator (only used for 5X and 10X, not 2X objective) over the objective and screw the four set screws to hold it
in place before adjusting its position. Connect the plug back to the under-arm of the camera tower. In the software,
under the configuration menu, choose the image menu and then the objevtive lens setup and the Lens Select menu
to choose the magnification objective desired. The system will then shut down the interface to save the current
settings and load the proper settings for the target lens setting when the interface is opened again.

Once the system is up and running, the user will need to adjust the ring illuminator position with the help of two fiber
tips prepared as for a splice. First rotate the ring illuminator to control the illumination direction and adjust how the
cleaved tips are displayed in Back and Front views, then adjust the ring illuminator height position on the objective
to control the illumination balance onto the fibers to have the best possible and symmetric illumination with Dark-
Light-Dark regions well defined.
