6.4.2 Changing a Laser Furnace

Note: If replacing a filament furnace, see Section 6.4.1 for instructions on removing the filament furnace before
installing the laser furnace.
1. Switch the glass processor on and initialize.
2. Home the lens by clicking on the "Lens Home" macro button.
3. Home the fiber holding blocks by clicking on "FHB Home" macro button.
4. Send the filament tower up by clicking the "Filament Up" macro button.
5. Remove the two screws shown in Figure 47 using a 5/64" hex key or ball driver and remove the laser
furnace assembly (shown in Figure 48).
6. Replace with the desired furnace assembly and secure with the two screws removed above.
