Optical Splice Head
The Optical Splice Head is the assembly used for splicing or tapering with the CO Laser system. It consists of a

horseshoe-shaped mirror to direct the incoming CO donut-shaped beam to a cone-shaped mirror which focuses
2
the beam on the fibers to be spliced.
Optical End-Cap Head
The Optical End-cap Head is the assembly used for producing end caps with the CO Laser system. It consists of
2
a horseshoe mirror to direct the incoming CO donut shaped beam to the cone mirror which focuses the beam onto
2
the face of the large fiber/rod (end-cap) to be spliced.
