Execute a Splice or Taper
The user can now open the splice file or taper file he desires to execute, prepare fibers according to desired process
and press the blue "One Button Process" to execute the routine automatically based on the list of processes defined
in the file "splice process list".
5.10. Steps of a Basic Splice with One Button Process
The section will discuss the use of the One Button Process. The idea of the One Button Process is to run all the
steps necessary to complete a splice once the fibers are loaded. The fusion source should already have been
centered (Section Figure 48) and where applicable, normalized (Section 5.9.2). The terms One Button Process and
One Button Splice are used interchangeably – both refer to the complete sequence of processes required to perform
the splice.
5.10.1 Basic One Button Splice
Select the appropriate splice file from the file directory for the splice to be performed. Files are typically named with
the Configuration Status, Objective size, filament size, followed by the type of fiber, the operation (splice, taper,
etc.), the date file was created, and the software version. For example, a file named GF-1.0-1.0-0.46-V2-16 SMF
th

with V1302 software.
