Prerequisites

1. Remove the battery.
2. Remove the optical drive.
3. Remove the keyboard.

Procedure

1. Close the display, and turn the computer over.
2. Remove the eight screws (M2.5x8) that secure the base cover to the palm-rest assembly.
3. Remove the two screws (M2x5) that secure the base cover to the palm-rest assembly.
4. Remove the three screws (M2x2) that secure the base cover to the palm-rest assembly.
5. Turn the computer over, and open the display.
6. Remove the three screws (M2x5) that secure the base cover to the palm-rest assembly.
7. Open the latch, and disconnect the optical-drive cable from the system board.
