    INTRODUCTION This manual is written purposely to acquaint new owners of the Glencoe® CM41 Cultimulcher with the functions of the various component parts of the machine as well as the service and safe operation which is vital to long life and optimum performance. Read this manual completely before you begin operating your CM41 Cultimulcher.

    OPERATION ROLLERS For maximum roller life, the rollers need to touch each other across the gangs. This adjustment is made by loosening the u-bolts that attach the bearing standards. The bearing lock collars must also be loosened. Bump the standard and the u-bolt toward the center of the machine until the rollers touch each other.
  • Page 18 OPERATION SPRING TINE DEPTH ADJUSTMENT The operator controls the depth of the spring tines by the use of the transport cylinder. When the transport wheels lower the machine to the ground, the work position begins (rollers only). As the transport cylinder retracts, the transport wheels continue to raise and the tines plunge deeper into the soil.
  • Page 19 OPERATION SPRING TINE ROTATIONAL ADJUSTMENT The front and rear tine bar assemblies are normally set so that rotation and penetration are the same. Set linkages as shown. For maximum spring tine life, the spring tine rotational depth should be set in relation to topsoil depth.

    OPERATION SPRING TINES Looped C-Tine The unique looped C-Tine is a rugged, penetrating tine designed to run at depths up to 6". These tines roll and mix the soil. The looped C-Tine is particularly effective in dry soil conditions, as the rolling action brings moisture to the surface.

    MAINTENANCE & SERVICE Warning: Never use your hands to locate a hydraulic leak. Use a piece of wood or cardboard.     ASSEMBLY TOOTHBARS Refer to Figure 2. Slide the front and rear toothbars with tines under the framework. Lift toothbars into position and place retainers to inside of frame hangers. Assemble with 1/2” x 1-1/2” bolts, lockwashers, and nuts. If your cultimulcher has 17” rollers or 17” crowfoot rollers, the retainers should be mounted in upper set holes.

    ASSEMBLY TRANSPORT LEVELER Refer to Figure 3. Mount the anchor mounting assembly to tongue with u-bolts. Do not tighten u-bolts. Install the two mounting levelers to main frame. Place shear plate assembly over the mounting leveler. Slide anchor pin through shear plates and mounting levelers and lock with klip pins.

  • Page 32 INDEPENDENT TOOTH CONTROL (OPTIONAL) Refer to Figure 4. Install the front toothbar lever and rear toothbar lever to the tooth bars. Install levers in line with each other on the tooth bars. Assemble the tooth bar link between levers with bend to front under the transport axle.
