8.3.10 Connect flange socket

Observe when connecting the flange socket:
Connect or disconnect plug connections only
in de-energized, dry and clean state.
Connect the motor with the ready-made con-
nection cable.
Protect the connector from external force
effect.
Observe the general installation conditions.
Please observe the special conditions on use
"X" for tensile load and impact test.:

Mounting instructions for single cable con-
nection plug-connector
Motor types: MS2Exx-xxxxN-CxSxx-NNNNN-NN
Cable types: RH2-xxxxx-NN-xxx,x
Ready-made connection cables are provided for
single cable connection. Before assembly, com-
pare the type designations of motor and cable.
1.
Connect the cable connector to the motor
connector. Observe, the knurled nut of the
cable connector in "open" position. Only in
this position, the cable connector can be
slided on. Avoid any kind of force.
2.
Tighten the knurled nut of the cable con-
nector with a 90° turn.
3.
Check the firm seat of the SpeedCon quick
lock by short pull on the connector.
4.
Secure the cable to prevent accruing
forces due to cable vibrations onto the
connector.

Safety

WARNING
High electric voltage! Danger to life, risk of injury
by electric shock.
Life parts are dangerous.
Do not open any covers or flange sockets
during operation.
Never connect or disconnect plug connec-
tors under load!
WARNING
Risk of injury due to rotating motor shaft!
Do not remove any covers, machine parts or
protection devices during operation.
Do not enter the range of movement of the
machine. Avoid unintended access for per-
sons, due to
Safety fences, safety screens or pro-
tective covers.
Optical sensors
CAUTION
Thermal danger due to hot surfaces with temper-
atures over 60 °C during operation
Do not touch hot motor surfaces.
Install protection against contact, if neces-
sary.
Make sure that no temperature-sensitive
components (cables, electronic compo-
nents, ...) touch hot surfaces.
All persons working with motors (responsible
persons, mechanics and planners) must have
knowledge, skills and competence according to
EN 60079-14:2014.
