Installation of soapstone sides for Morsø 3450
Soapstone is a soft, natural material that must be treated with care when installing the stove. We recommend
that two people install the sides in place to prevent accidental scratches and damage to the stove. You will
also need to have a two or four foot level to ensure proper fit and assembly.
Step 1: Remove the soapstone sides from the crate and place the two bottom pieces on the floor when the
stove will stand. The pieces must be 4 3/4 inches apart (375 mm) and must be level from front to
back and side to side.
Step 2: Before the stove is placed on the soapstones, close the four holes in the base that have been used
to attach the stove to the wooden pallet. The four holes should be closed with the included four
bolts M8 x 2mm.
Step 3: Carefully place the stove on the soapstone bases and re-measure. Now check the level and adjust
accordingly. (Fig. A)
Step 4: Place the 4 dowels (2 for each side) in the soapstone bases.
Step 5: Place the soapstone side on the dowels and lift the stove side high enough to capture the top of the
soapstone side under the top plate of the stove. (Fig. B)
Step 6: Place the screw (6 x 6mm) and washer through the inside cast iron sidewall of the stove. Each
stone has a threaded bushing to receive the screw. Attach the screw to the soapstone and carefully
tighten so that the bushing is not pulled out of the stone. (Fig. B)
Step 7: Repeat steps 5 & 6 for the other side.
