If you leave the vehicle parked up for longer than
six weeks, it may su er damage through disuse.
The 12 V battery may also be impaired or dam-
aged by heavy discharging.

connect the 12 V battery even if the vehicle is le
idle for a lengthy period.

This function is not available for all models.
If standby mode is activated, energy loss will be
minimised during extended periods of non-opera-
tion.
Standby mode is characterised by the following:
The starter battery is preserved.

The maximum non-operational time appears in

the media display.
The connection to online services is interrup-
R
ted.
The ATA (anti-the alarm system) is not availa-
R
ble.
The interior protection and tow-away protec-
R
tion functions are not available.
The function for detecting collisions on a
R
parked vehicle is not available.
If the following conditions are ful lled, standby
mode can be activated or deactivated using the
arter batt er batter ery's y's
multimedia system:
The vehicle is switched on.
R
The vehicle has not been started.
R
Exceeding the vehicle's displayed non-operational
time may cause inconvenience; i.e. it cannot be
guaranteed that the starter battery will reliably
start the vehicle.
Charge the starter battery in the following situa-
tions:
The vehicle's non-operational time must be
R
extended.
The Battery charge insufficient for standby
R
mode message appears in the media display.
