SAFETY

Steering Cylinder

FIG. 26: A roading pin (1) is provided for transporting the
machine. The roading pin locks the machine to tow
directly behind the tractor. This prevents movement to
either side due to operation of the remote hydraulic
control levers or a faulty hydraulic system.
To put the roading pin in the roading position align the
hole in the mainframe with the roading pin. Remove the
hair pin (2). Rotate the handle (3) upward to push the
roading pin down into the roading position. Install the
hairpin to lock the roading pin into the roading position.
The hairpin must be on the left-hand side of the latch
mounting bracket (4). Make sure the handle cannot be
rotated downward.
NOTE: If the hole in the mainframe is not aligned with the
roading pin, steer the header to get the correct
alignment. The spring will push the roading pin
into the roading position when the alignment is
correct.
FIG. 27: The roading pin must be in the storage position
to operate the machine in the field. To put the roading pin
in storage position, remove the hair pin (1). Rotate the
handle (2) downward to pull the roading pin out of roading
position. Install the hairpin to lock the roading pin in
storage position.
NOTE: If the roading pin will not raise, the hole in the
mainframe is not aligned with the roading pin.
Steer the header to get the correct alignment.
The spring will pull the roading pin into the
storage position when the alignment is correct.
