The internal fan operates when the unit is turned
off.
When the display mode is set to demonstration or
clock (page 60), the internal fan sometimes turns on
automatically to remove internal heat even when the
unit is turned off. This is not a malfunction.
To improve tuner reception
Turn off CD player power by using the CD power
management function. CD power is factory set to
on.

Press CD to select the CD function,
and then turn off the unit.

After "STANDBY" stops flashing, press
DISPLAY to display the clock.
The clock is displayed for 8 seconds. Do step 3
while the clock is displayed.

While the clock is displayed, press 
together with  on the main unit.
"CD POWER OFF" appears. With CD player
power turned off, disc access time is increased.
To turn on CD player power, repeat the
procedure until "CD POWER ON" appears.
About repairing the hard disk drive
 The contents of the hard disk drive may be
checked in case of repair or inspection during
a malfunction or modification. However, the
contents will not be backed up or saved by Sony.
 If the hard disk needs to be formatted or
replaced, it will be done at the discretion of
Sony. All contents of the hard disk drive will be
erased, including contents that violate copyright
laws.

Album Full!
The number of albums that can be recorded has reached
the limit.
Complete!
The operation has been successfully completed.
Data Error!
You tried to play a track that is not playable.
Export Error!
There is no album information that can be exported,
the selected album information (audio data) cannot be
exported, or the export of album information has failed.
Fatal Error!
The "WALKMAN" or the USB device has been
disconnected while importing audio data from the
"WALKMAN" or the USB device.
HDD Error!
A malfunction has occurred and the unit cannot
recognize the HDD. Disconnect the power cord from the
wall outlet and contact your nearest Sony dealer.
HDD Full!
There is no free space on the HDD.
Import Error!
There is no album information that can be imported or
the import of album information has failed.
Name NG!
The album title, artist name, or track title cannot be
registered as the same title or name already exists. You
have erased the registered title information and no title is
registered. You tried to edit the title of a factory-installed
sample data (Demo Tracks).
No Step
All programmed tracks have been erased.
Not in Use
You pressed a button that is invalid or currently
prohibited, there is no playable track, or a function other
than the HDD function is selected.
No Track
There is no track that the unit can play.
