The unit cannot start transferring audio data to a
"WALKMAN" or a USB device.
The following problems may have occurred.
 The "WALKMAN" or the USB device is full. Erase
unnecessary data from the "WALKMAN" or the
USB device (page 32).
 The number of tracks and folders on the
"WALKMAN" or the USB device has reached
the upper limit. Erase unnecessary data from the
"WALKMAN" or the USB device (page 32).
 You are using an unsupported "WALKMAN" or
USB device. See ""WALKMAN" models and USB
devices supported by this unit" (page 78).
 The "WALKMAN" or the USB device is write-
protected.
The unit stops the transfer before it is finished.
You are using an unsupported "WALKMAN" or USB
device. See ""WALKMAN" models and USB devices
supported by this unit" (page 78) for the supported
"WALKMAN" and USB devices.
The USB device is not formatted correctly. Refer
to the operating manual of the USB device for the
formatting operation.
Turn off the unit and disconnect the USB device. If
the USB device has a power switch, turn off the USB
device, and turn it on again after you disconnected it
from the unit. Then perform the transfer operation
again.
If the transfer and erase operations are done
repeatedly, the file structure within the
"WALKMAN" or the USB device becomes complex.
Refer to the operating manual of the "WALKMAN"
or the USB device for how to deal with this problem.
If the problem persists, contact your nearest Sony
dealer.
Transferring to a "WALKMAN" or a USB device
results in an error.
The "WALKMAN" or the USB device is full. Erase
unnecessary data from the "WALKMAN" or the USB
device (page 32).

transfer. Delete the partially-transferred track. If this
does not solve the problem, the "WALKMAN" or the
USB device may be damaged. Refer to the operating
manual of the "WALKMAN" or the USB device
for how to deal with this problem. If the problem
persists, contact your nearest Sony dealer.
Tracks or folders on the "WALKMAN" or the USB
device cannot be erased.
Check if the "WALKMAN" or the USB device is
write-protected.
The "WALKMAN" or the USB device was
disconnected or the power was turned off during
erase operation. Delete the partially-erased track. If
this does not solve the problem, the "WALKMAN"
or the USB device may be damaged. Refer to the
operating manual of the "WALKMAN" or the USB
device for how to deal with this problem. If the

The title information that appears on the
"WALKMAN" or the USB device is not the same as
that on the unit.
When you transfer tracks with ID3 tag information,
ID3 tag information will be displayed on the
"WALKMAN" or the USB device. If the track does
not have ID3 tag information, the file and folder
names appear on the "WALKMAN" or the USB
device.
WM-PORT/USB function does not work correctly.
You are using an unsupported "WALKMAN"
or USB device. If you connect an unsupported
"WALKMAN" or USB device, the following
problems may occur. See ""WALKMAN" models and
USB devices supported by this unit" (page 78) for the
supported "WALKMAN" and USB devices.
 The "WALKMAN" or the USB device is not
recognized.
 Track or folder names are not displayed on this
unit.
 Playback is not possible.
 The sound skips.
 There is noise.
 A distorted sound is output.
 Importing or transferring stops before it is
finished.
