On site troubleshooting
Attention
Do not fail a sensor in a remote installation, before the MAGFLO Verificator has been mounted
directly on the sensor and the Verificator fails the sensor again. Any uncertainties regarding
whether the cable installation is influencing the verification are then eliminated.
If the MAGFLO Verificator fails the transmitter, please check that the:
● Pin connection in the transmitter socket is correct
● Do not fail a transmitter before it has been tested as „stand alone" unit. An incorrect electrical
installation in strong noise environment can fail the transmitter test
If the MAGFLO Verificator fails the sensor insulation, please check that:
● Sensor is filled with liquid
● No unscreened coil and electrode leads lengths of more than 50 mm
● Electrode and coil leads not twisted together
● No short circuit between electrode and coil leads
● A correct earthing installation of sensor and transmitter
● PCB terminal centre screw mounted in compact installation or a wire connected from PE to
ground in the terminal box. See On site verification instructions (Page 31)
● In remote installation, coil cable screen must be connected at both sensor and transmitter
ends. Electrode cable screen only connected at sensor end
● No cable insulation failure or interruption of the signal cable
● No visible moisture in the sensor and transmitter terminal box
● No lightning protection or EMC protection installed, that will influence the signals
● No deposit of non conductive material coating the electrodes
If the MAGFLO Verificator fails the sensor magnetism, please check that:
● No bad, missing or short connection of the coil, or in the coil cabling
● Media temperature inside the limits of 0° - 60°C• No foreign magnetic material in the sensor
tube
● A correct earthing installation of sensor and transmitter
● PCB terminal centre screw mounted in compact installation and a wire connected from PE
to ground in the terminal box
