TVFD valve operation
Regular checks, preferably at every bag change, should be made to ensure that
the TVFD feed out functions properly. The properties of the collected material,
and other factors such as moisture, material density and size will affect how
well the feed out functions.
Material build up inside the filter could cause damage to the filter bags and if
collected material has got a high density, the collector will become very heavy.
During normal operation, ensure that air does not leak past the lower slide
valve. If leakage occurs it will lead to increased wear of the filter hoses in the
dust collector.
TVFD stop function test
Check the stop function by activating the stop (flip switch to "0"), during
the closing of the lower TVFD. The valve should stop immediately and the
manometer should indicate that the system is without pressure.
Depending on the alarm settings of the control system, an alarm indicating
"unclosed valve" might be triggered by performing this action.

Procedure
1.
If possible activate filter cleaning and emptying. This is not recommended
to do if the TVFD is blocked / stuck since it will cause more material to
collect in the TVFD.
2.
Shut down the vacuum system or if possible isolate the FlexFilter EX
from the system. Ensure that there is no risk of vacuum returning to the
FlexFilter EX during maintenance.
3.
Before closing of the compressed air, turn the red manual override (see
picture no. 21 / 14) on the solenoid valves (use a small flat head screw
driver), to open both upper and lower valve (V1 and V2).
4.
Activate the stop function on the TVFD and turn off the compressed air to
the entire FlexFilter.
5.
Remove the collection bags / container. Avoid dust spreading
6.
Carefully remove obstructing object or dust build up.
7.
Replace the collection bags / container.
8.
Reset the manual override of the TVFD solenoid valves.
