IEEE 1284
IEEE 1284 is the specification standard for PC-to-peripheral bi-directional
parallel interface communications. The standard was adopted by IEEE,
Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, Inc., in 1993. Some of the
benefits it provides are: bi-directional communication between PC's and
peripheral devices, a higher speed data transfer rate, and protection
against data loss due to noise interference.
Interface
The connection between two devices that makes it possible for them to
communicate with each other. The LASER CLASS 2060P features a
parallel interface, which makes it compatible with IBM and similar
personal computers.
Interface cable
The cable used to create the interface between a printer and a computer.
Interface port
The LASER CLASS 2060P comes with one Centronics, 8-bit, bi-directional
parallel interface port, located on the back of the unit. You attach the cable
that connects your computer and LASER CLASS 2060P to this port.
ITU-T
The International Telecommunications Union-Telecommunications sector,
a committee which created to set international standards for
telecommunication.
