Installing Operator Controlled Discharge
Accessory on Mower Deck
For 32 and 36 inch Walk-Behinds or Vantage 48, 52,
and 60 units (Not required on Vantage 36 units): Use
a hammer and chisel to knock out the standard tab,
as shown in Figure 2, before starting the installation
instructions. Knocking out the tab allows the
Operator Controlled Discharge accessory frame to fit
properly to these decks.
Check the location of the mounting pin as shown in
Figure 2. If necessary, remove the bolt and mounting
pin and place it into the correct location. Reinstall the
bolt to secure the mounting pin.

1. Flip up the existing discharge deflector.
Important: The Operator Controlled
Discharge accessory comes with its own
discharge deflector. When using the Operator
Controlled Discharge accessory, Exmark
recommends the original discharge deflector
to remain installed on the unit and in the
flipped up position. There are some instances
where the existing discharge deflector must

be removed when installing the Operator
Controlled Discharge accessory. If the
original discharge deflector is removed during
the Operator Controlled Discharge accessory
installation, retain the discharge deflector
and its hardware for reinstallation once the
Operator Controlled Discharge accessory is
removed.

• For 32 and 36 inch Walk-Behinds or
Vantage 48, 52, and 60 units: Insert the
mounting pin into the tube welded to the
rear corner of the deck (see Figure 2 for pin
location).
• For Vantage 36 units: Install the Adapter Kit
P/N 116-7042 prior to installing the Operator
Controlled Discharge accessory assembly (see
Figure 4). If the control cable is attached
to the gate and frame assembly, loosen and
remove the knob securing the cable mount
bracket to the OCD assembly. Lift and
remove the cable mount bracket. Figure 5.
