Setup Remove and retain the mounting pin bracket and its hardware from the Operator Controlled Discharge accessory assembly. Install the spacer bracket between the Operator Controlled Discharge accessory assembly and the mounting pin bracket using the hardware retained in the previous step and two 3/8-16 x 1 inch carriage bolts and 3/8 inch nyloc nuts as shown in Figure 5.

Use the discharge gate to temporarily stop or deflect grass clippings away from sidewalks, parking lots, patios, or anywhere grass clippings are not desired to be discharged. The handle allows the discharge gate to be held in any position from fully closed to fully open.

Operation front and rear deck lift shafts, and replace the floorpan Remove the hairpin and clevis pin from the handle assembly. Remove the handle assembly by sliding the handle assembly upward and out of the mounting bracket. The mounting bracket and support does not have to be removed from the machine.
Maintenance Maintenance Note: Determine the left and right sides of the machine from the normal operating position. WARNING While maintenance or adjustments are being made, someone could start the engine. Accidental starting of the engine could seriously injure you or other bystanders. Remove the key from the ignition switch, engage parking brake, and pull the wire(s) off the spark plug(s) before you do any maintenance.

Maintenance Place the handle in the closed position, refer to Opening the Discharge Gate in the Operation section. Unlock the Operator Controlled Discharge accessory assembly and pivot it away from the mower deck. Adjust the cable nuts located behind and under the linkage cover (see Figure 14).
Important: It is essential that all operator safety mechanisms be connected and in proper operating condition prior to mower use. The following table lists some of the common causes of trouble.
