Setup a shim. If the gate link frame has complete contact all around the discharge opening, the shim is not necessary. It can remain in the storage position for potential later use on other mower decks. Remove the shim located on the front of the gate link frame and loosely reinstall the nut.

Setup For Vantage 36, continue to route the cable behind the muffler guard and secure it with a velcro strap as shown in Figure 16. Apply another velcro strap to the LH frame bar as shown in Figure 18. Important: Keep the cable away from heat sources such as the muffler and manifold.

Maintenance Maintenance Note: Determine the left and right sides of the machine from the normal operating position. WARNING While maintenance or adjustments are being made, someone could start the engine. Accidental starting of the engine could seriously injure you or other bystanders. Remove the key from the ignition switch, engage parking brake, and pull the wire(s) off the spark plug(s) before you do any maintenance.

Maintenance Place the handle in the closed position, refer to Opening the Discharge Gate in the Operation section. Unlock the Operator Controlled Discharge accessory assembly and pivot it away from the mower deck. Adjust the cable nuts located behind and under the linkage cover (see Figure 27).
Important: It is essential that all operator safety mechanisms be connected and in proper operating condition prior to mower use. The following table lists some of the common causes of trouble.
