6.3 Turning the machine on and off

During the machine's heating-up phase (roughly
20 minutes), the negative pressure valve will
release steam for a few seconds until the valve
closes.
If the machine is inactive for longer than a week,
the Technician must replace 100% of the water in-
side the hydraulic circuits.
6.3.1

SAE version

Proceed as follows:
• Open the water valve of the water mains and softener.
• Turn the main power switch (1) to the ON position; the
heating unit water level indicator will start to flash slowly
(2).
• Wait for the heating unit automatic water filling process
to be completed: the heating unit water level indicator (2)
will remain lit.

• Press the machine's main switch (1).
• Wait for the heating unit automatic water filling process
to be completed (the indicated symbol will appear).

• Wait another second or so for the automatic test to be
carried out.
• The machine is ready for use when the following screen

Turn off the machine using the main switch or power switch.

6.4 Preparing the machine

6.4.1

Grinding and dosing coffee

It is important to have a grinder-dispenser next to the ma-
chine so that the coffee can be ground on a daily basis.
The coffee must be ground and dispensed according to in-
structions provided by the manufacturer of the grinder-dis-
penser. The following points should also be kept in mind:
• To make a good espresso, we recommend that you do not
store large amounts of coffee beans. Comply with the ex-
piry date indicated by the producer.
• Never grind large volumes of coffee, it is advisable to pre-
pare the amount that can be held in the dosing device
and if possible, use it by the end of the day.
• Do not buy pre-ground coffee, as it perishes quickly. If nec-
essary, buy coffee in small vacuum-sealed packs.
6.4.2

Lighting

Work surface
To turn the machine's work surface lighting on and off, press
the switch (18) located at the front under the front control
panel on the left-hand side.
Side panels
To turn the side panel lighting on and off, press the switch
(17) located at the back under the front control panel on the
left-hand side.
