• The machine fills the boiler with the necessary amount of
water.
The amount of water present in the tank will be
used almost all for filling the boiler and this opera-
tion is normal.
• At the end the machine will start heating the water in or-
der to dispense the products.
• The machine will be ready to dispense products when the
pressure gauge positioned at the bottom indicates a pres-
sure between 0.09 - 0.12 MPa (0.9 and 1.2 bar).
We recommend filling the water tank again be-
cause in this first phase the machine uses a lot of it
to fill the boiler.

4.2.2

Turning the machine off

Turn off the machine by placing the general switch (3) on (O).

4.3 Stand by

After 90 minutes of not being used, the machine automati-
cally goes into the standby phase, i.e. some features are inhib-
ited to reduce energy consumption.
The standby status is signalled by the flashing of the ignition
light (7).
To reactivate the machine, raise the dispensing lever and re-
turn it to its original position. Wait a few minutes until the
pressure gauge shows a pressure above 0.09 MPa (0.9 bar).

4.4 Grinding and dosing coffee

It is important to have a grinder-dispenser next to the ma-
chine so that the coffee can be ground on a daily basis.
The coffee must be ground and dispensed according to in-
structions provided by the manufacturer of the grinder-dis-
penser. The following points should also be kept in mind:
• To make a good espresso, we recommend that you do not
store large amounts of coffee beans. Comply with the ex-
piry date indicated by the producer.
• Never grind large volumes of coffee, it is advisable to pre-
pare the amount that can be held in the dosing device
and if possible, use it by the end of the day.
• Do not buy pre-ground coffee, as it deteriorates quickly. If
necessary, buy coffee in small vacuum-sealed packs.

4.5 Tips for a good cup of coffee

Wash the filters and filter holders on a daily basis, as indicat-
ed in para. 5.2.2 on page 27. The failure to perform this
cleaning operation will negatively affect the quality of the
dispensed coffee.
To obtain high-quality coffee, it is important that the water
hardness does not exceed 6-7°f (French degrees). If the water
hardness exceeds these values, it is advisable to use a water
filter or softener. Avoid using a water softener if the water
hardness is less than 4°f.
If the taste of chlorine in the water is particularly strong, in-
stall a special filter.
If you change the type of coffee, we recommend calling out
the Technician to adjust the grinding.
