Pre-release and experimental versions
The software version number of any model can be ascertained by following

M a n u a l
s e c t i o n
"PreConfiguration:VersionNumber"
(hold down the
button whilst
switching on).
The version number takes the form "
", where "m" is the major version
number, "n" is the minor version number and "A" is a variant letter.
Models where "m" is the digit "0" or the letter "X" are pre-release or
experimental versions, and the "A" is a sequence letter; production models
have a major version number of "1" or higher,
and the variant letter
determines the language combination.
Please note that not all early software versions support the optional Large
Head; if a large head is to be added later, please refer to the version
number above, and the release notes inside the back cover, to ascertain if
appropriate software has been installed.
