B.
Fault/ Error Indicator
This LED will light up if t he charger det ect s a problem and can not proceed wit h charging.
Amber (solid)— No bat t ery det ect ed. Check t o ensure t hat clamp connect ions t o t he bat t ery post s are
clean and solid. If connect ions are good, t he bat t ery is severely discharged (<1.5 V) and may be unsafe t o
charge. The bat t ery should be t est ed or replaced. (NOTE: " 888" will also appear on t he digit al display)
Red (blinking)— A fault has been t riggered and charging has been abort ed. Check t he digit al display for a
Fault Code and see " Troubleshoot ing/ Fault Codes" for possible causes and solut ions.
Red (solid)— Reverse polarit y has been det ect ed. Reverse clamp connect ions.

A blinking LED indicat es t he bat t ery is charging. A solid LED indicat es charging is complet e and
bat t ery charger has ent ered t he Maint ain st age. (See " UNDERSTANDING t he MULTI-STAGE
CHARGING PROCESS" sect ion.)

There are 3 bat t ery t ypes t o choose from. Pressing t he
each of t he bat t ery t ypes. See below for an overview of each t ype.
NOTE: The bat t ery charger will ret ain t he last select ed mode in memory. In t he event AC power is
disrupt ed (e.g., power failure), t he charger will re-st art in t he last select ed mode once power is
rest ored.
BATTERY TYPE
EXPLANATION
For charging 12-volt Wet (flooded), Maint enance-free (MF), Calcium (Ca) and
NORMAL (14 .4 V)
Enhanced Flooded (EFB) bat t eries as well as many AGM bat t eries.
AGM (14 .8 V)
For charging some 12-volt AGM bat t eries
GEL (14 .1 V)
For charging most Gel bat t eries
For best result s, check t he charging recommendat ions on your bat t ery or consult wit h t he bat t ery manufact urer.

E. Charging Modes
There are 4 charging modes t o choose from. Press t he MODE but t on repeat edly t o cycle t hrough each
of t he regular modes. To select t he special mode (RECONDITIONING), hold t he MODE but t on for 3
seconds. Charging will aut omat ically begin about 5 seconds aft er t he charge mode has been select ed.
NOTE: The bat t ery charger will ret ain t he last select ed mode in memory. In t he event AC power is
disrupt ed (e.g., power failure), t he charger will re-st art in t he last select ed mode once power is
rest ored.
