Replace Reader, Controller, and Backplate
IN100 readers and controllers are paired in the factory - when replacing either
of these, the reader, controller and backplate must all be changed and the
replacement reader/controller in this kit must be configured to the lock type
it is being paired with.

Reminder: Replace all (3) provided assemblies.
Understanding Green vs Red Circuit boards
If you are performing this electronics replacement process on an existing Sargent 7900
series mortise lock that has green controller and inside mounting plate circuit boards
then a modification must be made to the wiring harness (79-2210). This modification is
necessary for proper switch function using the red circuit board assemblies provided in
this replacement kit. For proper function (of 79-2210), the one white wire on pin 6 must
be moved to pin 4. See connector view with pin locations shown.
Newer 7900 mortise locks with red circuit boards and the new
harness (79-2228) will already have the white wire on pin 4
and do not need to be repinned.

latches, and mounting plates especially when mounting electronic components such as readers and controllers onto the

• Leave components (reader and controller) protected in their respective anti-static bags until ready for installation.
• Do not touch pins, leads or solder connections on the circuit boards.
