Auto-Provisioning: If Auto-Provisioning is enabled
on the SCU, the provisioning of the last occupant of
the MUX slot, including Service State, will be
written to the new MUX upon installation, given that
the newly installed unit is of the same device type as
the previous unit.
Linked Provisioning: This feature transfers
provisioning settings changes between the Online and
Offline units to keep both units' provisioning settings
identical. Linked Provisioning is always Enabled.
Auto-Provisioning will not overwrite
Linked-Provisioning settings received on installation.
All subsequent provisioning changes are made
through the SCU communications link.

3. OPERATION

The TSI-MUX provides logic level signals to the
Access Modules.
The TSI-MUX is capable of mapping any 64 kbps
(DS0) channel to any other 64 kbps (DS0) channel
within the Total Access 3000/3010 shelf. Each
mapping represents a bidirectional link between 64
kbps (DS0) channels. The TSI-MUX has a maximum
number of 3584 time slots allocated for linecard to
linecard mappings/tappings. This will allow support
for a maximum of 1792 individual DS0 mappings and
a maximum of 3584 individual DS0 tappings when

mapping linecard to linecard. This will provide
enough mapping capability to map 56 E1 signals to
another 56 E1 signals within a Total Access 3000
shelf.
The Total Access 3000/3010 Chassis provides two
multiplexer slots to be used for a 1:1 protection
configuration. A single TSI-MUX may be installed,
but a second TSI-MUX is needed for operation in the
protection mode. If only one TSI-MUX is used, it
may be installed in either multiplexer slot, "A" or "B."
Power Interface
-48 VDC is delivered to the TSI-MUX from the Total
Access backplane.
User/Supervisory Interface
User access to the TSI-MUX is through the System
Controller Unit (SCU). The SCU provides a Craft
(DB-9) for a VT100 interface and provides the
protocol conversion necessary between SCU and the
VT100 interface.
Provisioning
All provisioning takes place through the SCU
communication link. Onboard switches or jumpers
are not provided. The unit retains provisioning in a
nonvolatile memory device.
Front Panel Indicators
LED indicators are described in Table 1. Switches
are described in Table 2.
