System Clock Mode
The system Clock Mode menu allows the user to
select where the system clock derives its timing.
The user can Enable or Disable any of the following
sources:
• BITS Clock (Highest)
• Linecard # 1
• Linecard # 2
• Local (Lowest)
If more than one source is selected, the highest on the
above list will have the highest priority.
DS0 Mapping
The DS0 mapping configures the time slot interchange
for routing of 64 kbps (DS0) channels. Each mapping
consists of a card number, port number, start DS0, and
end DS0. This information is provided for both sides
of the map, then linked together by the time slot
interchange. See Figure 6. Each access module
present in the shelf determines the valid values for
each field. Information for each compatible access
module is transmitted to the TSI-MUX automatically.
These limits can change dynamically as access
modules are configured, inserted, or removed.

DS0 Tapping
The DS0 tapping allows a passive tap of any mapped
DS0 link. The source of the tapping is one side of a
mapping entry. The destination of the tap must be an
unused 64 kbps (DS0) channel. Two individual
tapping entries must be provided to passively monitor
both sides of a valid DS0 mapping. See Figure 7.

Restore Factory Defaults
This option resets the TSI-MUX to the state in which
it was shipped from the factory. All provisioning
changes will be reset including DS0 mapping. This
option does not affect the current software revision
even if an upgrade has been performed since
installation.
Software Upgrade
Y-Modem Firmware Upgrade
This product will provide a facility to perform
firmware uploads via the Y-Modem protocol. This
upload utilizes either the craft or administration ports
control by the Total Access 3000/3010 System
Controller Unit. The firmware upload contains
software version and CRC-32 information to verify
the firmware image that is being uploaded. This
information prevents invalid images from being
transmitted to the TSI-MUX multiplexer. If the
Y-Modem retry limit is exceeded during the download
or the download is aborted, the current firmware will
remain the active firmware and the firmware that was
partially downloaded will be invalidated. The
firmware activation option is not enabled when the
download does not complete successfully.
TFTP Firmware Upgrade
This product will provide a facility to perform
firmware uploads via the TFTP protocol. This upload
utilizes the 10BaseT interface controlled by the Total
Access 3000/3010 System Controller Unit. The
firmware upload contains software version and
CRC-32 information to verify the firmware image that
is being uploaded. This information prevents invalid
images from being transmitted to the TSI-MUX
multiplexer. If the TFTP retry limit is exceeded
during the download or the download is aborted, the
current firmware will remain the active firmware and
the firmware that was partially downloaded will be
invalidated. The Reboot Into New Software option is
not enabled when the download does not complete
successfully.
