The RMM can occupy any access module slot and terminates a DS1 signal in the Total Access 3000/3010 system. Power Interface The RMM receives power from the Total Access 3000/3010 system. SCU User/Supervisory Interface User access to the RMM is through the SCU via the system bus present on the Total Access backplane.
Each of the six (two on the Total Access 3000 High Cap) Loop I/O connectors provides a single loop to each access module slot in the chassis. The “ring” side is associated with pins 1–28 on the connector, and the “tip”...
Remote Management Module Installation and Maintenance Practice Loopbacks The following loopback options are supported by the RMM module. • Manual Loopbacks • In-Band Loopbacks • Loopback Timeouts Manual Loopbacks CAUTION Do not invoke a DS1 loopback if the RMM is being configured remotely and the management link is provided by the RMM.
Menu Structure MENU STRUCTURE The SCU provides a menu system for the Total Access 3000 shelf. All system-related menus are controlled by the SCU. Each access module has its own user menu structure supported by the module. The menu structure for the RMM is a layered menu tree. Each menu level consists of submenus and/or menu items.
