Alignment
SWR Meter Adjustment (MP version)
Referring to table
at the right, tune
the MAIN Band
( V F O - A ) f r e -
quency to each fre-
quency listed.
Connect the 50-
O h m D u m m y
Load and Wattmeter to the "ANT 1" Jack, then
set the METER switch to the "SWR" position and
turn on the SWR switch.
Switch the External Display to the Temperature/
SWR Indication Screen.
Disconnect the 3-pin plug from J2516 on the TX
Unit, then apply a –2.8 V DC voltage to pin 2 of
J2516, and –1.4 V DC to pin 3 of J2516.
Set the MAIN Band (VFO-A) frequency to 1.85
MHz in the USB mode.
Press the PTT switch, then adjust VR2505 on the
TX Unit for an SWR reading of 3.0 on the SWR
meter on the External Display.
Release the PTT switch.
Press and hold in the [ANT1], [ANT3], and [RX
ANT] keys, while turning the radio on, to enter
the alignment mode.
Apply a –7.0 V DC voltage to pin 2 of J2516, and
–1.4 V DC to pin 3 of J2516.
Rotate the Main Dial knob to select the alignment
parameter "C61A."
Press the PTT switch, then rotate the CLAR/VFO-
B knob for an SWR reading of 1.5 on the SWR
meter.
Rotate the NOTCH knob for an SWR reading of
1.5 on the TEMP/SWR meter.
Release the PTT switch.
Perform the same procedures for the Alignment
Menus "C61b" through "C63c," per the chart
below.
Press and hold in the [MNU] key for 2 seconds
to exit from the alignment mode.
Re-connect the 3-pin plug to J2516.

quency to each fre-
quency listed.
Connect the 50-
O h m D u m m y
Load and Wattmeter to the "ANT 1" Jack, then
set the METER switch to the "SWR" position and
turn on the SWR switch.
Connect the DC voltmeter (Hi Impedance) to the
center leg of VR2506 (or TP2528) on the TX Unit.
Disconnect the 3-pin plug from J2516 on the TX
Unit, then apply a –2.8 V DC voltage to pin 2 of
J2516, and –0.7 V DC to pin 3 of J2516.
Set the MAIN Band (VFO-A) frequency to 1.85
MHz in the USB mode.
Press the PTT switch, and note the DC voltmeter
reading.
Disconnect the DC voltmeter from VR2506 (or
TP2528), then connect it to the center leg of
VR2505 (or TP2527) on the TX Unit.
Adjust VR2505 so that the DC voltmeter reading
is 1/4 of the voltage noted in the previous step.
Release the PTT switch.
