FM MAX Deviation Adjustment
Press the [MNU] key momentarily to enter the
Menu ("Set") mode.
Rotate the Main Dial knob to select Menu item
"MODE-FM 059 FM MIC SELECT."
Rotate the CLAR/VFO-B knob to set this Menu
item to "REAR."
Press and hold in the [MNU] key for 2 seconds
to exit from the Menu ("Set") mode.
Connect the Dummy Load, Wattmeter, and De-
viation Meter to the "ANT 1" Jack.
Set the MAIN Band (VFO-A) frequency to 28.700
MHz in the FM mode.
Connect the Audio Generator to pin 8 of the MIC
jack (pin 7: GND) on the rear panel, then set the
output level to 10 mV @1 kHz.
Press and hold in the [ANT1], [ANT3], and [RX
ANT] keys, while turning the radio on, to enter
the alignment mode.
Rotate the Main Dial knob to select the Align-
ment Parameter "C59."
Press the PTT switch, then rotate the CLAR/VFO-
B knob for 4.5 kHz (±0.2 kHz) on the Deviation
Meter.
Release the PTT switch.
Rotate the Main Dial knob to select the Align-
ment Parameter "C60."
Set the MAIN Band (VFO-A) operating mode to
the FM-N mode.
Press the PTT switch, then rotate the CLAR/VFO-
B knob for 2.25 kHz (±0.15 kHz) on the Deviation
Meter.
Release the PTT switch.
Press and hold in the [MNU] key for 2 seconds
to exit from the alignment mode.
SWR Meter Adjustment (D version)
Referring to table
at the right, tune
the MAIN Band
( V F O - A ) f r e -
quency to each fre-
quency listed.
Connect the 50-
O h m D u m m y
Load and Wattmeter to the "ANT 1" Jack, then
set the METER switch to the "SWR" position.
Switch the TFT display to the Temperature/SWR
Indication Screen.
Disconnect the 3-pin plug from J2516 on the TX
Unit, then apply a –2.8 V DC voltage to pin 2 of
J2516, and –0.7 V DC to pin 3 of J2516.
Set the MAIN Band (VFO-A) frequency to 1.85
MHz in the USB mode.
Press the PTT switch, then adjust VR2505 on the
TX Unit for an SWR reading of 3.0 on the SWR
meter on the TFT Display.
Release the PTT switch.
Press and hold in the [ANT1], [ANT3], and [RX
ANT] keys, while turning the radio on, to enter
the alignment mode.
Apply a –7.0 V DC voltage to pin 2 of J2516, and
–0.7 V DC to pin 3 of J2516.
Rotate the Main Dial knob to select the alignment
parameter "C61A."
Press the PTT switch, then rotate the CLAR/VFO-
B knob for an SWR reading of 1.5 on the SWR
meter.
Release the PTT switch.
Perform the same procedures for the Alignment
Menus "C61b" through "C63c," per the chart
below.
