Alignment
SUB S-meter Adjustment
Connect the RF Signal Generator to the "ANT 1"
Jack, then set the output level to +12 dBµ at 14.200
MHz.
Set the SUB Band (VFO-B) frequency to 14.200
MHz in the CW-U mode, and set the SUB Band
(VFO-B) RF GAIN knob to the fully clockwise
position.
Press and hold in the [ANT1], [ANT3], and [RX
ANT] keys, while turning the radio on, to enter
the alignment mode.
Select the appropriate "Alignment Parameter" us-
ing the Main Dial knob per the chart below, then
adjust the CLAR/VFO-B knob for the correspond-
ing the Sub S-meter deflection and press the
[ENT] key to save the new setting at each fre-
quency.

VRF-2 UNIT A
VRF-2 Unit Adjustment (D/MP version)
Connect the RF Signal Generator to the "ANT 1"
Jack, then set the output level to +0 dBµ at 53.500
MHz.
Set the SUB Band (VFO-B) frequency to 53.500
MHz in the CW-U mode, and set the SUB Band
(VFO-B) RF GAIN knob to the fully clockwise
position.
Turn on the SUB Band (VFO-B) VRF/µ switch,
then rotate the SUB Band (VFO-B) VRF/µ knob
clockwise one revolution.
Adjust L3804 and L3805 for maximum deflection
on the Sub S-meter.
Turn off the SUB Band (VFO-B) VRF/µ switch.
Set the SUB Band (VFO-B) frequency to 50.500
MHz in the CW-U mode.
Set the RF Signal Generator to 50.500 MHz, then
set the output level to the position where the Sub
S-meter deflects to "S-6."
Turn on the SUB Band (VFO-B) VRF/µ switch
again, then rotate the SUB Band (VFO-B) VRF/µ
knob to the position corresponding to a peak on
the Sub S-meter.
Confirm that the Sub S-meter reading is "S-5" or
above.
