Setting the PROFIBUS DP address
With the PROFIBUS address, you specify the address at which the communication module
is addressed on PROFIBUS DP.
The PROFIBUS DP address is set via a rotary coding switch on the enclosure front.
Requirements
The following requirements and conditions must be met:
● Each address is assigned only once on PROFIBUS DP.
● The PROFIBUS address set must match the PROFIBUS address specified in the
configuration software.
● A change of the PROFIBUS address is only valid after a "supply voltage off/on" on the
CM.
Required tools
The following tools are required to set the PROFIBUS address:
● Socket wrench 14 mm
● Screwdriver 2.5 mm
Setting the PROFIBUS address
Permitted PROFIBUS addresses are 01 to 99.
Proceed as follows to set the PROFIBUS address:
1. Remove the two M12 seal caps from the rotary coding switches (if necessary, use a 14
mm socket wrench).
2. Using the screwdriver, set the PROFIBUS address on the rotary coding switch.
– Upper rotary encoder switch: 10th position
– Lower rotary encoder switch: 1st position
3. Screw the two M12 seal caps back onto the threads to protect the rotary coding switches
(torque: 0.5 to 0.8 Nm).
4. Switch the supply voltage off and on again.
