1 - INTRODUCTION

The aim of the automatic electronic battery switch is to isolate the battery loads and to protect the electrical
system against short circuits and/or overloading on all vehicles and in particular on those used for transport
of dangerous goods.
The battery switch acts to:
• insulate the vehicle electrical system from the battery negative
• directly or indirectly de-energize the alternator to prevent dangerous over voltage
• execute controlled switching off of the supply to the electronic systems based on the vehicle microprocessor
• automatically deactivate itself when the vehicle is not used in order to preserve the state of the battery
• deactivate itself automatically following a system/battery voltage drop below a preset threshold.

2 - TYPE-APPROVAL - CERTIFICATION - CONFORMITY

The product conforms to Regulation ADR:2003 - paragraph 9.2.2.3. The product does not conform to
regulation ADR: 2005 as that edition expressly prohibits the negative disconnection version and expressly
requires the positive or bipolar (positive and negative) disconnection versions. It is still, however, possible to
use the negative disconnection version as a replacement part with reference to regulation ADR:2003.
The product is type-approved in accordance with guidelines for electromagnetic compatibility in the automotive
fi eld: for details, refer to the relative label on the product.

3 - GENERAL DIRECTIONS

• Safeguard this booklet for future use.
• The packaging is potentially dangerous and must not be left within reach of children.
• The device must not be used by children or persons not trained in its use.
• This device must be used only for the purpose for which it was expressly designed, any other
use is considered improper use and, therefore, dangerous.
• No part of the product is edible.

4 - ENVIRONMENTAL DIRECTIONS

• At the end of their working lives, the kit parts must be disposed of separately according to their
composition, and must not be dispersed in the environment.
