    ANUAL Foreword This manual is intended to familiarize the user with the Spudnik 4300 BULK BED and its designated use. This manual contains important information on how to operate the machine safely, properly, and efficiently. Observing the instructions in this manual helps avoid dangers, reduce repair costs and down-time, and increases the reliability and service life of the machine.

    Designated use of the machine: The Spudnik 4300 BULK BED is designed exclusively for normal agricultural operations, which is its designated use. Using the machine for other purposes or exceeding its designated limits shall be considered contrary to the designated use.

Machine Operation/Maintenance Belt Tension The rule for belt tension is as follows: The belt tension must be great enough to prevent slippage between drive pulley and belt. If there is slippage between the drive pul- ley and belt adjust the take-ups, on both sides of the pulley, equally until there is no more slippage.

Check all nuts, bolts, and screws regularly for tightness. 5.1.3. Fastener Grade/Class Marking: Replace nut/bolt pairs with the same grade or higher than Bolt head markings, and nut surface markings, are that of the original nut/bolt.

    5.3.1. Follow the tightening torques given in the table below when tightening, replacing, or repairing any Hydraulic Fit- tings. There are two methods to achieve proper ‘clamp load’ on the flare connections used on Spudnik machinery. 1. Torque: Torque hydraulic fitting using a torque wrench.

    Repair or replace as necessary. While components vary, general procedure applies to all Spudnik belted chains.  Inspect the Web Joiners for wear. Due to the metal on metal connection in the Web Join- ers, they tend to wear more quickly than the IMPORTANT rest of the belted chain.

    Belted Chain. (See Figure 19) Grease: Shell Retinax EP2 multipurpose grease (or equivalent). Gearbox Lube: 80W90 gear oil. Roller Chains: Spudnik chain lubricant, PN 991707 or equivalent industrial chain spray. Hydraulic Oil: AW32 IMPORTANT AW32 hydraulic oil is for use in self hydraulic systems only.
