TOWING THE MOWER
Towing procedure : To enable the machine to be towed when the engine is not running, an optional
Emergency park brake release kit can be fitted.
This allows the brakes to be manually released for towing short distances. Connect a rigid tow bar
between the towing eye on the mower and a suitable towing vehicle. Ensure that the towing vehicle
specification is suited to braking the combined vehicle weight to rest whilst effecting complete control
at all times. Ensure the towing vehicle's parking brake is applied. Chock the mower front wheels to pre-
vent the mower rolling away.
De-commission the front wheel motor disc brakes as follows :-
1) Open the two bypass valves (a) on the left and right hand side of the Transmission Pump. Rotate the
valve four times to the fully open position. Do not open valves past four turns.
2) Place the parking brake lever in the "brakes off position
3) Pump the hand pump in and out a number of times
4) During towing, the hand pump will need to be operated occasionally as internal leakage in the brake
system will gradually apply the brakes. This is quite normal and ensures that the machine cannot be left
unattended with the park brake locked off.
Note: The Mower must be towed at a low speed typically no more than 10% of the normal operating
speed.
The wheel speed must not exceed 16 rev/min.
