Installing a drive

After installing the new drive, verify that the drive is reported as Alive and monitor the progress of the
RAID rebuild.
NOTE: When installing a drive, ensure that the adjacent drive is fully installed. Inserting
a drive carrier and attempting to lock its handle next to a partially installed carrier can
damage the partially installed carrier's shield spring and make it unusable.
NOTE: To maintain proper system cooling, all externally accessible drive bays must be
populated with a drive carrier.
1. Press the red release button on the right side of the replacement drive to release the handle.
The handle springs open.
