OPERATION
METHOD FOR CHECKING WATER SEPARATOR, DRAINING WATER AND SEDI-
MENT
1.
Open the pump room door on the right side of the ma-
chine.
2.
Check for water and sediment.
It is possible to judge the water level and amount of sedi-
ment by looking through transparent cup (2).
NOTICE
If the water inside transparent cup (2) freezes, check
that the frozen water has melted completely, then fol-
low the procedure to drain the water.
3.
Put a container to receive the water under drain hose (3).
4.
Loosen drain valve (4) and drain the water.
5.
When fuel starts to drain from drain hose (3), tighten drain
valve (4) immediately.
On this machine, a sensor is installed to detect if water is
accumulated in transparent cup (2).
When the water separator caution lamp (5) lights up in red
on the machine monitor, it indicates that water is accumu-
lated in transparent cup (2).
In this case also, use the procedure above to drain the wa-
ter.
REMARK
When only the water separator caution lamp lights up, it
lights up in the position shown in the figure. If other caution
lamps also light up at the same time, the water separator
caution lamp lights up at a different position.
NOTICE
If the water accumulated in transparent cup (2) freezes, the water separator caution lamp may not
light up. After the engine is started, as the temperature around fuel prefilter (1) increases, the frozen
water will melt and the water separator caution lamp may suddenly light up. In cold season, even if
the water separator caution lamp is not lit, drain the water frequently.
If drain valve (4) is hard to move, adjust it so that it moves smoothly. For details, see "METHOD FOR ADJUST-
ING DRAIN VALVE (3-143)".
METHOD FOR ADJUSTING DRAIN VALVE
1.
Turn valve (6) at the bottom of the fuel tank to CLOSE po-
sition (S).
2.
Place a container under the fuel prefilter cartridge to re-
ceive the fuel.
