Problem
Snowplow will not stay angled
when plowing.
Snowplow will not angle, pump
works.
Wing will not stay angled when
plowing.
Wing will not move, pump works.
Snowplow lowers too slowly.
Snowplow drops sporadically.
Headlamps will not switch from
the vehicle to the snowplow.
Lit. No. 68251, Rev. 09
TROUBLESHOOTING
Cause
The angle pressure-relief valve is
set too low. NOTE: Increasing the
pressure-relief setting will cause
damage to your snowplow. Do not
set the pressure relief greater than
3000 psi.
Review all probable causes above. NOTE: Verify coils S3 and S4 for angle functions.
The angle pressure-relief valve is
set too low. NOTE: Increasing the
pressure-relief setting will cause
damage to your snowplow. Do not
set the pressure relief greater than
1700 psi.
Control station, harness or cables
may be loose or improperly
connected.
Hydraulic lock in the manifold has
occurred.
No power to the coils.
Coils are receiving power.
Solenoid cartridge may be
contaminated or damaged. A bent
cartridge will not allow the valve to
move freely inside of the cartridge.
Variable fl ow control valve is not
adjusted properly.
Review all probable causes for
"Snowplow will not lift."
Variable fl ow control valve is
opened too far.
No power or ground to the
headlamp relay.

Solution
Check the pressure relief by testing the valve in-line
with the cylinder. Attach a tee fi tting to the angle
cylinder hydraulic adapter and connect the hose
and pressure gauge to the tee. NOTE: The setting
should not exceed 3000 psi.
Test the wing pressure relief. Attach a fl uid psi
gauge to the quick connect fi tting on the manifold.
The pressure relief should not be greater than
1700 psi.
Verify that control station, harness and all cables
are securely connected. Clean if necessary.
Loosen cartridge valves S9 and S10 or S1 and
S2 to relieve pressure and retighten. DO NOT
OVERTIGHTEN! Valves should be torqued to a
maximum of 24 ft-lb.
Verify that coils S1 and S2 (passenger-side slide
box retract and extend) and S9 and S10 (driver-
side slide box retract and extend) are grounded,
connected properly and receiving power. If no power
is available, diagnose the harness. Review the
harness schematics. If power is present, review the
next step.
Verify that coils are magnetizing. Position a
screwdriver inside of the coil. When the respective
function is activated, the screwdriver is drawn to
the side of the coil. If the coil is not drawn to the
screwdriver, replace the coil. If power is present,
review the next step.
Determine a damaged cartridge valve by reversing
the driver-side and passenger-side cartridge valves.
Replace valve if necessary.
WARNING: Snowplow can fall suddenly. You
can die or be seriously injured. Drop snowplow
to ground before adjusting fl ow control.
Turn fl ow control valve counterclockwise in small
increments and test.
Verify S5 coil (fl oat) or S5 and S8 coils (disconnect)
for magnetism.
WARNING: Snowplow can fall suddenly. You
can die or be seriously injured. Drop snowplow
to ground before adjusting fl ow control.
Turn clockwise 1/16 turn and test.
Verify that the headlamp/ground relay connector is
connected. If the connector is properly attached,
replace the headlamp relay(s).
