• Start by cleaning carefully the mower particularly under the cutting
deck.
• To avoid rubber sediment, empty completely the fuel from the tank
and, open the fuel tap and empty the fuel in the carburettor tank by
unscrewing the emptying screw or by leaving the engine running until
it becomes empty.
The tank emptying has to be done outdoor. Don't smoke.
• Disconnect the spark top.
• Engine hot, empty the oil frame. Fill with new oil until you reach
FULL indication for the PKCTM model or the upper limit of the
gauge for PHCT-PHCS
models.
• Proceed to the cleaning of the air fi lter.
• Remove the spark and oil the cylinder with a spoon of oil. Pull the
starter several times to distribute the oil and protect the cylinder and
valves from corrosion. Put the spark plug back.
• To prevent rust from forming, close the engine valves by pulling
gently on the starter handle until you feel some compression.
10• STANDARD REPAIRS - BREAKDOWNS AND SOLUTIONS
Most operating problems are due to wrong handling and using, poor use of the lawnmower or the lack of normal recommended maintenance.
Should breakdown remain, please contact your ETESIA dealer.
Before doing anything, disconnect the spark plug cap and close the fuel valve.

The engine was lying on the wrong side: oil has
entered the cylinder
Vents clogged
Low oil level
Air filter needs cleaning
Regulator rod blocked
Lack of compression
Spark plug or spark plug cap defective
Ignition cable insulation defective
Snapped cord or broken pulley
Vent hole in the fi ller cap clogged
Operation of the regulator affected
Intermittent ignition
Only use ETESIA parts as replacements. The quality of the work, the life of the lawnmower and your
Cover areas that may rust with a light coating of oil.
• Before you put the machine back into place, cool the machine then
drive it in a dry place on shelf or a sheet of metal.
To reduce the risk of fi re, store the machine in place free of
grass, leaves and grease and far from any ignition spark.
TO PUT IT BACK TO SERVICE
• Unscrew the spark and clean it with fuel. Allow to dry without re-
placing it.
• Pull energetically many times the starter to eliminate oil excess from
the cylinder.
• Refi t the spark.
• Check the oil level and tank with unloaded fuel.
• You are now ready to start the engine.
This seasonal maintenance can of course be done by your ETESIA
dealer.
