11• PROLONGED STOPPAGE - WINTER STORAGE
1. Clean the machine thoroughly, particularly the cutting deck. Grease
moving parts.
2. Empty up the gas tank before running the engine until total fuel
exhaustion.
WARNING !
Always empty the fuel tank in open air.
3. Disconnect the spark plug.
4. Remove the spark plug and inject a small quantity of oil through
the plug hole about 1 cl in the cylinder.
5. Turn the engine using the ignition key.
6. Replace the plug by hand without adding the plug cap.
7. Remove the battery, firstly removing the negative terminal.
8. Charge the battery : see page 26.
9. Store the battery in a dry place, protected from frost and sunlight,
preferably in a ventilated room with the temperature between 10
and 20 °C.
10. Recharge the battery every two months.
WARNING !
A lead battery releases an explosive gaseous
mixture during charging. Therefore avoid flames, cigarettes
and sparks.
• The battery contains sulfuric acid which is very dangerous and which
can cause serious injuries if it comes into contact with the skin. This
is why great care is recommended.
• If it comes into contact with the skin or eyes, rinse copiously with
water and if necessary contact your doctor.
12• TROUBLESHOOTING - ANCHORING
TOWING THE MACHINE IN THE EVENT OF
A BREAKDOWN
• Put the by-pass lever on the position 0.
• Use only approved tow bar to attach to the hook at the front of the
machine (see picture 42).
• Do not use any other point to tow the machine.
WARNING !
The unclutched position 0 should only be
used on short distances and at low speed. After displacement,
do not forget to put the by-pass lever in position 1 again.
If the machine has to be moved on a great distance, use
appropriate means of transport (e.g. trailer).
ANCHORING
When the MKEHH mower is transported on a trailer or a utility, it
is necessary to anchor the mower. For this purpose, you can use the
front towing hook (see picture 42) and the one at the back, passing
a strap (see a picture 43) on top of the housing and attach it to two
sides of the vehicle.
To transport the mower on a trailer, place the machine so that the
engine hood is facing the towing vehicle.
• The battery and acid must be kept out of reach of children.
• Call your dealer for the following adjustments or maintenance :
- hydrostatic transmission neutral point adjustment
- electromagnetic blade clutch adjustment
- cutting plate parallel alignment
- engine adjustment
• Replacing the following parts :
- deck toothed belt
- hydraulic pump driving belt
- chains
- check of electrical components
- check of hydraulic components
- changing any parts or repairs for which disassembly is necessary
and which are not described in our Operator's booklet.
